Introduction to Fly Fishing, Lake Fishing, and Ice Fishing

Introduction to Fly Fishing:

If you have always wanted to try fly fishing, now is your chance. One of Kimberley Fly Fishing’s experienced guides will teach you all the basics of this wonderful sport. All the equipment is included as well as a short half day drift on the river once you understand the simple casting techniques. Be prepared to catch Cutthroat Trout on a dry fly your very first day! Any client on the Intro program will also receive 10% off anything in the Kimberley Raft and Fly Shop.

Lake Fishing:

The Kimberley area has some beautiful high elevation lakes that produce big strong Rainbow Trout. We enjoy taking clients to our secret lakes to enjoy some of the world’s best lake fishing. Generally in the spring before the river fishing picks up, the Rainbows in the lakes are extremely active. We also target these acrobatic Rainbows in the fall with dry flys! Either in the spring or the fall the “fun” level catching these trout is a memory you will never forget.

Ice Fishing:

True Canadiana! As ice thickens on Rocky Mountain Lakes to over 12 inches, the ice fishing season has officially begun. Come with us as we drive over the lake to our favorite areas of the lake. Drill holes, stoke the stove with dry larch and wait for the rod tips to bend over. Rainbow Trout are still active under the thick ice and are a lot of fun to catch! After lunch and fishing we stop at Lussier Hot Springs for a quick dip in the therapeutic hot pools next to the glacier fed Lussier River.
